Episode 231: I Expected More

Welcome. We have 15 films and 2 albums to talk about, some you should check out and some you should probably avoid.

This time we’re breaking out a TAROT deck with horrific results, getting stalked by a shark in Australia, learning to never call a woman a “bimbo”, revisiting one of the more notorious underground 80’s horror flicks, giving THE TERMINATOR a big screen viewing, hammering out a few sequels, and so much more!

Episode 230: Done with Summer

It’s summer. It’s hot. We hate it. Still, we somehow managed to watch sixteen films amongst the swelter.

This time we talk Osgood Perkins’ LONGLEGS, come of age with rave culture, go trucking with two tough women, go mondo with a whole lot of stripping, Chris is (finally) pleasantly surprised by a new horror flick, dive into the world of Brazilian gangs, and so much more!

Episode 229: So Stupid But So Amazing

Sometimes you need a little bit of stupid in your lives and a couple of the sixteen movies we cover in the episode certainly delivers that.

This time we hit the theatres for the trilogy-ending MAXXXINE and the Bollywood action flick KILL, Jon Cryer goes back to high school, Hammer Films does science fiction, a killer shark gets in the way of sexy time, Jack Palance attends black mass, a hair metal band gets slashed up, and so much more!

Episode 228: Teenagers, Gunslingers, & OTT Action

Hey, there. It’s us, your two movie loving nerds Chris and Josh. The newest episode has us talking about 16 titles but we’re also trying out a new music-based segment that we’d really love to hear your opinion about.

This time out we’re heading to the Old West multiple times with excellent results, Andrew McCarthy whines (a lot), Josh discovers “mumblecore”, high schoolers hit 1981 New York Ciry, a family tries to save their son from a cult, two friends scheme to make quick cash, we get an ass-kicking woman, and so much more!

Episode 227: Back in the House

To quote Van Halen: “I heard you missed us, we’re back!”

We’ve returned from our hiatus to talk about twenty flicks including our take on FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA, Josh getting down with multiple sequels, Wings Hauser being crazy (again), Chuck Norris kicking butt & getting the girl, TV movie misbehaving, Wes Craven getting grimy, Jason Statham “protecting the hive”, and so much more!

Episode 226: No Doberman

What happened to dobermans? How stupid can a horror movie premise get? These and more questions get asked, and somewhat answered, when we talk about the sixteen movies we watched.

This time we get a deep feeling of discomfort, a janitor teaches a high schooler how to kick ass, Rock Hudson is the most messed-up scientist (maybe) ever, Stanley Kubrick does noir, the mafia gets a comedic elbow in the ribs, we come-of-age in a small Canadian town, and so much more!

Episode 225: Also Known As

Some movies get released with different titles and trick us, so colour us surprised when two of the sixteen covered this time pull the good old “bait & switch”.

This time we flee from killer cats, discover even Steven Spielberg can flop badly, crack safes with Burt, learn way too much information about starving to death, get annoyed at Melanie Griffith, talk about a Troma movie people just DON’T talk about, and so much more.

Episode 224: Post Apocalyptic Summer Camp

Where else but GBW are you going to hear about swashbuckling, an underrated 90’s power pop band and crazy girls all in the same episode? Nowhere.

This time out we get some TV movie summer camp shenanigans, checked out Rose Glass’ LOVE LIES BLEEDING, Josh bemoans the state of “torture porn” of the mid-2000’s, Lara Flynn Boyle goes crazy, pirates sing and dance, George A. Romero gets medieval (sort of), there’s all sorts of submarine drama, truckers don’t take no guff, and so much more!

Episode 223: Air Sax

Sixteen movies are covered on this episode but first we share our thoughts on the 2024 Oscars: the good, the not so good, and any surprises.

Then it’s on to the flicks and, this time, we’re all over the place with Bruce Willis doing the nasty, Burt Reynolds being a cool cowboy, a tween girl getting bloody revenge, the most bizarre “two Coreys” movie ever, a finale to the O.G. Planet of the Apes franchise, a crime comedy with a great cast that was dumped by its studio, a sheriff who REALLY doesn’t like speeders, some “Air Sax”, and so much more!

Episode 222: Creepy Old Men (& Other Tales)

Step right up as we talk about sixteen movies that are rife with inappropriate old dudes, slow-motion overuse, and even gut munching.

This time we’re returning to the Planet of the Apes, the Italians are ripping off Hollywood yet again, Jet Li shows how he became a star, babysitter Keri Russell gets up to all sorts of mischief, Joe D’Amato directs a horror flick with a difficult to pronounce name, we discover the inspiration for Kevin Smith, some kids want new parents even if their chosen adults aren’t down with that, and so much more!
